Get in touch

Getting in touch.

This is the part most people find hardest, so it is deliberately the smallest step. A fifteen-minute phone call, free, with no obligation to book anything afterwards.

Brighton and Lewes or online. The first fifteen-minute call is free.

  • Usually a reply within a working day
  • BACP accredited, member 374395
  • Brighton and Lewes or online
  • A phone call, not a form

The quickest route is to call or email and say you would like the free fifteen-minute call. You do not need to explain anything at that point. We find a time, we talk, and you decide afterwards whether you would like to meet.

Where to find me.

A room in Brighton, a room in Lewes on Tuesday afternoons, and online. If you are not sure which suits you, ask on the call. People change between them as their circumstances change, and that is entirely normal.

Brighton.

Hollingbury Park Avenue, Fiveways, Brighton BN1 7JQ

In the Fiveways area, north of the city centre.

Two steps up to the door, and a doorbell. There is no waiting room, so please arrive at your appointment time rather than early. Buses run along the road next to Ditchling Road, and there is free parking nearby in Hollingdean.

Lewes.

Netwerks Lewes, G06, 4 Fisher Street, Lewes BN7 2DG

Tuesday afternoons, 2pm to 5pm.

Ground floor, step-free access, and a bell at the door. This room is new to the practice, so if there is anything else you need to know about getting in, ask on the call.

Online.

Anywhere in the UK, by video or by phone.

You need a private space where you will not be overheard, and a reasonable connection. Nothing else.

Lewes is the only step-free room. It is on the ground floor, with a bell at the door. Brighton has two steps up to the door. If stairs rule a room out for you, say so on the call, and we will find a way round it, whether that is the Lewes room on a Tuesday afternoon, online, or somewhere else.

What happens after you get in touch.

  1. I reply. Usually within a working day. If you have left a voicemail I will call back, and I will not leave a message saying who I am unless you have told me that is fine.
  2. We have the free call. Fifteen minutes, by telephone. You say as much or as little as you want to.
  3. You decide. Not on the call, unless you want to. There is no pressure and no follow-up sequence chasing you.
  4. If we go ahead, I offer you a regular weekly slot and we agree where to meet.

Before you write.

Email is not a secure way to send something private, and I do not check it out of hours. Please keep a first email to the practical part: that you are looking for counselling, and when you are usually free for a call or if you prefer we can book a full 50-minute initial session.

Everything else belongs in the conversation, where it can be held properly.

What I do with your information

If you need help urgently. I work by appointment and I am not a crisis service. If someone's life is at risk, call 999. For urgent mental health support at any hour, call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option. Samaritans are on 116 123, free, day or night.

Practical details.

Fees

£80 for a fifty-minute session, payable a week in advance. The first fifteen-minute call is free.

BACP accredited, member 374395. Bound by the BACP Ethical Framework.

Cancellations

Supervision enquiries

Individual, group and organisational supervision are arranged the same way. Say so when you get in touch.
